Dr. Heidicker, the Official 4th Fighter Wing Historian, details the exploits, sacrifice, and dedication of the RAF Eagle Squadrons and the 4th Fighter Group. These great patriots created the foundation of today’s 4th Fighter Wing and earned the motto, “Fourth but First”.

Col Steve Pisanos, USAAF (Retd)

Interview with Steve Pisanos, Col. USAF Retired, July 30, 2013, discussing his time in the 71 Eagle Squadron in 1942 prior to US involvement in WW2.

At the time of filming, Col. Pisanos was one of the very few remaining Eagle Squadron pilots. Col. Pisanos discusses combat flying the Spitfire, P-47 and P-51.

Since this footage was filmed, Col Pisanos has sadly passed away.
